For Women: Getting Started With Lifting

Stepping on a lifting floor for the first time can be quite intimidating for most women.  You look around and see huge dudes grunting and throwing around more weight than you possess in your entire body and you seriously consider turning around and b-lining to the cardio equipment. Stop!  Don’t join the herds of people camping out for hours on end on the elliptical machines.  In my opinion, they resemble gerbils running in a wheel – mindlessly moving, but not really getting anywhere.  Whatever your fitness goals may be – to lose weight, tone up, get healthier, etc. lifting can help you achieve those goals more efficiently.

The Cardio Debate For Fat Loss: High Intensity Versus Low Intensity

It is a mistaken belief that long and slow, low intensity cardio is best for fat loss because it utilizes the aerobic system and burns fat during exercise. High intensity cardio is actually far superior and more effective for fat loss than low intensity cardio for several reasons.

Weight Gain And Muscle Building For Women

Everyone wants to lose weight; for females this is even more so.  There is so much information available regarding weight loss, but what if you are at the other end of the spectrum? What if you are a woman who wants to gain some weight and build muscle? Yes, you heard that right!  Some of us actually want to gain weight and bulk up.  Where do you turn? I have been on that end of the spectrum in search of a plan to help me gain weight and get ‘bigger.’   I found so much information on fat loss for women and muscle building for men, but not much for women who wanted to get bigger.
